About Melody
First of all, congratulations! I can imagine you have quite a mix of thoughts, emotions, and questions.
I'm a ProDoula-Certified Labor Doula, where I received specialized training in prenatal, labor, and postpartum support. Before becoming a doula, I spent six years in healthcare, providing hands-on patient care and provider support. That work taught me just how valuable steady support can be, and it inspired me to help others navigate hard decisions when they're scared, overwhelmed, or just don't know where to begin.

Contact meCommon questions
What does a doula do?
A doula provides emotional, physical, and informational support during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. I don't perform medical tasks; instead, I help you feel comfortable, informed, and supported.
What areas do you serve?
I serve families in Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles counties, including Murrieta, Temecula, Menifee, Winchester, and Lake Elsinore.
Is doula care covered by insurance?
Yes! I currently accept Kaiser Permanente, Health Net, IEHP, Molina. I'm in network and bill your plan directly using a recognized billing platform called Loula. Loula verifies your coverage to confirm eligibility before we begin care. Most families pay $0 out of pocket. Check your coverage
Do I need to be a Birthstone Midwifery client to work with you?
No. While I partner with Birthstone Midwifery clients to provide continuity of care, I also work independently with families planning births at home, in hospitals, and in birth centers. Ready to get started? Book directly with me to schedule a free consultation.
What's the difference between a doula and a midwife?
A midwife is a medical provider who handles your clinical care and delivers your baby. A doula is a non-medical support person who stays by your side for comfort and encouragement. Many families have both.
Do you support hospital births?
Yes! I support families in hospitals, birth centers, and at home.
What if I want an epidural or need a C-section?
I support every kind of birth. My role is to help you feel supported in whatever choices you make and whatever turns your birth takes. Whether you're planning a C-section, birthing at home or in a hospital setting I will be by your side.
When should I hire a doula?
Anytime! Many families book in the second trimester, which gives us time to get to know each other and plan together. But it's never too late to reach out.
